The Browsing Stag Bronze patinated cast iron casting

A fine and well detailed 19th century casting 'The Browsing Stag' by P.J.Mene. This model was cast both in bronze and in cast iron and in various sizes, this being the largest size at 14.5 inches tall cast in iron by Coalbrookdale. The detail is exceptional and the patination a lovely complex dark brown. The antlers were cast in bronze on both the bronze and cast iron models. Mid to late 19th century, number 118 in Mene's catalogue.
