A fine taxidermy example of a badger. This is part of a fascinating collection of stuffed birds and animals formed in the late 19th century by John Colquhoun 1805 - 1885 grandfather of the present Chieftain, and one of the most renowned naturalists of his time. He was the author or `The Moore and the Loch` the definitive work of it`s day on West Highland Sports. Almost all of the collection was shot on the Luss estates by John Colquhoun himself. |
